A light show
in the distant clouds
reminds one of a time.
A time of pretending
of dancing with
music…boom, boom
crackle, clash, ding.
Then a distant friend
shows up
out of no where
and brings delight
and thoughts of
once upon a time
we went for a walk
and on that walk
we came across
a bumpy hill.
Oh the stories
we came up
with about that hill
and how it came to be.
Never really knowing
whether any of
our stories were true,
but oh my
the fun we had.
Just living life.
Connecting.
Each of us
A story to be told
and to live.
Some say forget
the past
it is gone forever,
but memories bring
to light
so much…
and the connections
we make can last a lifetime
and sometimes longer.
Thanks for the joyney
and the stories to carry on.

One day while living in England, I walked through a field full of poppies. Mostly red poppies everywhere the eye could see, but for one spot. There in that one spot was something quite unique compared to all surrounding the area. In amongst the poppies was a single orchid. I was amazed by this one solo flower growing alone amid the array of poppies. One flower trying to hold its own against the odds…and yet it did…all of the flowers from that day held such beauty…and a little bit of sadness, too. The sadness is for the short time the flowers are here on earth, but then again…gratefulness, for they brought a bit of happiness into my life. And a memory of a day spent walking through a poppy field to find something quite unique. An orchid, I chose to keep in my memories and leave for others to discover.
