One Day Quilt

One day I hope we can see we are all unique beings with common threads and when pieced together, we make a beautiful quilt.~Pauline Harris

Perspective is all in the eye of the seer

There is a story of two people. One is on an island and the other is on a boat. The one on the island sees the one on the boat and thinks about being rescued from loneliness and a way to get off the island. While on the other hand, the one on the boat thinks about being rescued from long days at sea. Both people are viewing their lives from the perspective of where they are at during that moment. Neither of them realize how much they do have already if they opened up their eyes and saw what was around them.

Perspective...All in the eye of the Beholder

Perspective…All in the eye of the Beholder

In these two pictures, one can see the dominant colours prevail over the others because of different lighting. However, these pictures are of the same painting. Perspective is all in the eye of the beholder…sometimes we just need to take one step outside to see a whole new world of possibilities.

WatersDeep

Step into the unknown.
A blank page, some water.
Vibrant paints
and the imagination
can take hold.
Here we are
looking into
what might be
maybe this
or could be that.
But what is to come is
Only what was meant to be.
The joyney is here
Present always.
A step this way can
only mean life goes on.
Time now to create
from unknown to known.

Angelic Muse

In the 1990s, I made this angel from paper scraps and cotton with some additional ink work.  After completion, it was photographed and put into the computer and worked on the display for my tribute to angels website on geocities.

Surprise amongst the Poppies

One day while living in England, I walked through a field full of poppies.  Mostly red poppies everywhere the eye could see, but for one spot.  There in that one spot was something quite unique compared to all surrounding the area.  In amongst the poppies was a single orchid. I was amazed by this one solo flower growing alone amid the array of poppies. One flower trying to hold its own against the odds…and yet it did…all of the flowers from that day held such beauty…and a little bit of sadness, too. The sadness is for the short time the flowers are here on earth, but then again…gratefulness, for they brought a bit of happiness into my life.  And a memory of a day spent walking through a poppy field to find something quite unique.  An orchid, I chose to keep in my memories and leave for others to discover.
