Searching For Snow

Every winter and even some in fall
The distant flakes begin to fall
Gathering their dust for us all
To make snow angels in the snow
But this year, some have not seen a flake
While others cry for assistance
For those who wait for the snow
I will listen for the echoes in the wind
And hear those shouts for joy to begin
For me, I will be shocked if we see any
But am glad to see so many enjoy
The festive joy each flake brings
And the smiles and icicles on the faces
Love to all these festive days…

Standing On The Edge

Opening the doors
To the world
Learning all the horrors
Everyday on the news
Torturing of the souls
To focus on the good
Or to even see beauty
And to have these images
Ingrained within the messages
In other worldly gatherings
Forced into believing
No freedom to choose
Stating, if one stands up
Then thrown out the door
Mercy and compassion
Are the desires of many
But shunned and pledged
As undesirable
Taking a leap to share gifts
Living with wisdom
Cultivating compassion
Allowing fluidity of mercy
To reach beyond
Enriching lives always

The Journal

Many moons ago, a little girl
Wrote of tales and secret thoughts
Then her brother discovered these inks
Telling how the government knew all
Every word she wrote
And threatening to lock her up
If she wrote more, even truths
The girl believing him, hid the journal
One day many years later
The journal looked up to see
There were sad eyes of a lady
Reading the pages
Finding courage to write more
Knowing the flow is stronger
And no longer confined by lies
Creating miracles instead, the lady wrote on

Aura of Angels

A simple smile
Whispers momentous joy
Reaching the hearts
Of millions in one gesture
Spreading comfort to all
And them continuing the journey
Peaceful times unfolded
Warmth and laughter ensued
Singing and dancing
Sharing meals
Powerful presences
The angelic blessings

One Carousel Ride

(Inspiration:  a photo of a carousel)

Just invited for a family outing
Only knew many of them barely
Shy, but adventurous. ..learning more outgoing
I went along to the harbor
Meeting relatives for the first time
A great dinner and then walking
Exploring the boardwalk…finding the carousel
My great grandma looked at it
With such joy in her eyes
She asked for me to ride it
In her stead…glee in my heart
I road the merry horse around
Around …around… and away I go
Such fun…until I saw
Someone making fun of me
Horrified, I cried…I was crushed.
Devastated to this day of the awful
Things do to others …sad now

Once Again, Obviously Yes

Thoughts and actions lead us here
Deciding to take another vantage point
Brought some squabbles along with peace
Interdependence and following the Divine Light
Walking with joy in my heart
Finally I see love engulfs me
