Coconut Rice

2 cans of coconut milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup of jasmine rice
a tab of butter
a pinch of salt

In a saucepan, bring the coconut milk, salt, brown sugar, and butter to a boil. Add rice. Turn down heat to low. Stir often. Cooks in about 10-20 minutes. Serve warm.

Nice addition to curry, jambalaya, or eat with nutmeg.
It does freeze well.

A method of digitizing applique machine embroidery

Appliques can done in a few stages. The first stage including setup was to have the design do a outline of where to place the secondary fabric and for the design itself. The second was to place the secondary fabric on onto the design and have the machine do a tack down of this said fabric (in this stage, I have normally done a triple stitch to secure the fabric enough that the excess can be trimmed, but sometimes the trimming is done later…depends on the design and the digitizer). After this step is the underlay n satin stitching. Trim excess fabric and threads.

Note…this process is different if making multiple applique or a multiple fabric applique, but this is the general concept.

Perspective is all in the eye of the seer

There is a story of two people. One is on an island and the other is on a boat. The one on the island sees the one on the boat and thinks about being rescued from loneliness and a way to get off the island. While on the other hand, the one on the boat thinks about being rescued from long days at sea. Both people are viewing their lives from the perspective of where they are at during that moment. Neither of them realize how much they do have already if they opened up their eyes and saw what was around them.

Perspective...All in the eye of the Beholder

Perspective…All in the eye of the Beholder

In these two pictures, one can see the dominant colours prevail over the others because of different lighting. However, these pictures are of the same painting. Perspective is all in the eye of the beholder…sometimes we just need to take one step outside to see a whole new world of possibilities.

Spreading Joy Letter story

Spreading Joy Letter story.

The Sound of Rain

Imagine a day when the sound of rain coming down was peaceful and calming to the very core of your being. The pitter patter sound as it hit the ground and surrounding areas. Each drop echoing the whispers heard within the wind…angelic whispers of songs of joy and peace. Soothing is such a sound. All troubles, worries, and thoughts seem to slip away…almost completely forgotten. Pitter-patter…A flash of lightning blazes across the sky…Boom and crackle. A rush of excitement as one watches the dancing lightning with the thundering sounds. Slowing the sounds seem to become less intense and less vibrant. Calmness instills within. WatersDeep

Step into the unknown.
A blank page, some water.
Vibrant paints
and the imagination
can take hold.
Here we are
looking into
what might be
maybe this
or could be that.
But what is to come is
Only what was meant to be.
The joyney is here
Present always.
A step this way can
only mean life goes on.
Time now to create
from unknown to known.
