Foretold Storm

Many moons passed-
Since the first whisper-
Of the event-
Not sure it would appear-
Sometimes reflections-
Pass on by-
But solitude-
Came to me-
The rumble-
Started to roll-
Humble-
As I was to be-
I listened and watched-
As the springs-
Poured-
Out of the heavens-
Rampent-
Waves of rain-
Gushed it way-
Down upon the earth-
Cries ring out-
Across the buildings-
And trees-
Another storm-
Has mashed through-
Leaving behind-
Floods-
And plenty of water-
For the plants-
And crops-
A break-
A breath-
A sigh-
Tonight, we find-
Comfort-
After the storm passes.

Whether Weather

Forecasted no rain-
And it floods the streets-
Forecasted little rain-
Tornadoes and floods happen-
The alarms keep going off-
The rain comes heavy-
Rumbling thunder-
Close friends nearby-
For safety-
Almanac speaks of wonders-
Rustling gusts give rise-
Changes occur often-
Some with warnings-
Surprisingly others-
Could care less-
A drop of blessings-
May help many to carry on-
Others may just want to believe-
In the lies that have been focused for them-
Whichever direction-
The storm approaches-
Engulfing parts-
Working together-
For calm-
A rainbow shows promise-
Today is here-
For the living, to carry on.

Life Begins

A seed was planted-
Years ago-
To bloom and grow-
Flourishing with praise-
Saddening with lack-
Living each day-
Striving for the knack-
Giving soulfully-
To land and family-
and beyond-
The seed gave birth-
To bring us love-
To give us healing hugs-
To show us joy-
Be well with the hope-
Bring forth smiles-
And carry on living.
~Pauline Harris
