Important Person

I’m Important, Each of Us Are Important

Each day brings a new incite
Into the importance of being
Each of has a destiny
To make the world better
To leave our mark for the future
A simple smile brings such delight
To one and all, for with that one gesture
A whole world of joy awakens
Loving kindness and hope
Inspiring mountains to move once again
Spreading the joy to the living
Sharing smiles and more
Enjoy life and give Heartsmiles

Creepy Bridge

Walking in the woods
Feeling the cool breeze
Seeing the colours changing
Smelling the misty waterfall
Hearing the twickling water
As it washes over the riverbed
Tantalizing and tricky
The creepy bridge presents itself
Inviting many to venture across
But knowing the water
Is just underneath
Tempted by curiosity
I take a step
Gandering on what could be
My last journey
As stories have been told
Of this creepy bridge
Taking souls along
For a walk to nowhere
Mustering courage
I walk across
Hoping to discover
Something more
Inside of me to share
In walking, I become aware
The fear, I once had
Has been given away
To joy and excitement
Making my way here
To the other side
Of the creepy bridge
Is a new found happiness

Shadowy Faces

Only glimpses of each person
Do we see, seeking their own story
They each describe one incident
In clear detail from one perspective
Although another will tell it differently
Each lived their lives similarly
However their vantage point differs widely
So the stories they tell and live
Are true to each of them
At that particular moment
For the story is ever-evolving
As each moment creates new perspectives
With each new breath one takes

The Delicate Rose

Once many years ago
A boy, I liked gave me
This one delicate rose
Although he just liked me
As a friend, he thought it good
To give such a gift
And it was. I learned much
From that rose gift
Of courage to be a friend
Of beauty and of caring
Of letting go of my whims
For the sake of something greater
Time has passed and we departed
On our separate ways
But no doubt, I still think of him
Now and again, the noble rose
He gave me and the humble heart
I learned to keep
Friendships have meant much to me
Grateful for each of them
The gifts we give go beyond words

Aura of Angels

A simple smile
Whispers momentous joy
Reaching the hearts
Of millions in one gesture
Spreading comfort to all
And them continuing the journey
Peaceful times unfolded
Warmth and laughter ensued
Singing and dancing
Sharing meals
Powerful presences
The angelic blessings

One Carousel Ride

(Inspiration:  a photo of a carousel)

Just invited for a family outing
Only knew many of them barely
Shy, but adventurous. ..learning more outgoing
I went along to the harbor
Meeting relatives for the first time
A great dinner and then walking
Exploring the boardwalk…finding the carousel
My great grandma looked at it
With such joy in her eyes
She asked for me to ride it
In her stead…glee in my heart
I road the merry horse around
Around …around… and away I go
Such fun…until I saw
Someone making fun of me
Horrified, I cried…I was crushed.
Devastated to this day of the awful
Things do to others …sad now

Tough Reads

(Inspiration:  a photo of a puppy yawning while laying between some books on a bookshelf.  One book is ‘Money’ by Zola and another book is ‘Origin of Species’ by Darwin.)
One day this puppy decides books
Are the way to succeed in
Life. Finding these books on a
Shelf, the puppy takes a gander
And begins to read. Not knowing
How tough each books subjects were,
The puppy soon yawns and falls
Asleep. Learning some books are rough.

Pieces Of You

You left a letter
Stating your intentions
Leaving our relationship
And departing on your way
You said you needed to
Clear your head
Shocked, I wept
Time passed by
No sign of your return
Soon a distant memory
I moved on until
One day, a knock
Queries about you
Did I know you
Yes, but why the questions
They replied all
That was found
Was pieces of you
I wept in horror
And in pain
I had loved you

Stalled Car

Attempting to turn

My life, my car

Get out of the way
Trying to get home

Shaken by events
Classes canceled
Lost in thoughts
Searching for joy

Car stalls in the middle
Not thinking to put it
In neutral, just thinking

Need help now
No phone, no one around
Desserted road
All alone, need help
Not thinking, I leave

I leave my car in the middle
In the middle of the road
Soon I hear a car

A police car. I follow their
Orders to move my car,
But before I reach my car
I am tazed. Down I fall.
Shot soon after.
All I had was a stalled car.

No more for me.

Dedicated to the memory of the
man with the stalled car.
