friendship And boxes

I have a secret to tell

I heard something

The other day

It was about friendship

And boxes

The said item

Was that most people(or so they say)

Have friends who

Look, Act, and Are Like

The person they are friends with

…growing up as a military brat

I learned early on

My friends are my friends

Because of our shared

Experiences, likes/dislikes, background

but maybe something deeper

Because we care about

One another and inspire/support each other

Sure we have differences and disagreements

We also may not agree on things

But deep down, we love one another

Even when we want to take a moment

For it is healthy to have time to breathe

And still end up sharing Love Forward

Along this joyney we all live

Where Is Dad?

Where is Dad?

Serving for Freedom,

Again

by Pauline Harris

Dad has just returned

After a long TDY

I didn’t want to let go

My arms could touch him

My hug was genuine

I missed him so much

Don’t ever go away again

My heart aches each time

My dad leaves, but then again

I know what he does is

Far greater than just me

My dad helps keep freedom

And democracy alive

In this country and others

When someone asks

Where is my dad

I tell them he is

Keeping our freedoms alive

And he will be back

When he is able

I look forward to seeing

And giving him

A great big bear hug

Thank you dad

For being you.

Divine Love

Divine Love

By Pauline Harris

\*/

There is a love

Without compare

Shown to each of us

In the oddest moment

That love is everywhere

And for everyone

We are not always aware

To know the love is there

20 years later

20 years later

How have we changed?

Justice? Mercy? Peace?

Closure? Compassion?

Or has division been our focus?

Separation? Money talks loudly.

Dictating who has rights,

And who has no voice.

Can we return to the day

Of unity, where a child saw

How we all looked the same.

We were covered in ashes.

We all were unified in recovery.

We were all unified to find peace.

We loved each other unconditionally.

We mourned as one world.

The Days After Nine Eleven

The Days After Nine Eleven

by Pauline Harris

To remember what United us…

United the whole world…

The overwhelming connecting feeling we all felt

Happened when we all came together

To know there was and is more connecting us

That Love, so Divine…and it is still here

If we only can look pass the division

Towards the Light and Love

Always surrounding us every moment

We can remember that connection

Paper and Pencil

Paper and Pencil

Laying on a table

Is a pencil and paper

Just laying there

On the table

Waiting for someone

Who has the courage

To take up the pencil

And grab the paper

To make some impression

Of writing or drawing

From the pencil and individual

To the paper, just waiting

Waiting there on the table

A Falcon Came By

A Falcon Came By

A bit of wonderment happened in our backyard this morning. I was looking out to our backyard at the chaste tree blooming. On the chaste tree was this bigger bird than usual. I thought wow and kept looking at it. It moved around a bit and then saw it was a falcon. The falcon swooped to nest on our bird feeders. I watched it for a few minutes and thought ‘well, I should go get my phone or camera’. While away, it left the garden. In its wake I saw our hummingbirds coming in to feed. …I love these moments of pure joy. by Pauline Harris

Learning Differently

I learn differently and see the world differently. Over the years, I have come to understand my seeing and understanding differently. Yes, I still have difficulties. In addition to the difficulties, there is wonderment with creativity and seeing/understanding differently. I choose to focus on these…

The biggest obstacle is those who treat me differently. I cannot change them, as it is their choice…I can choose how I handle myself.

We can always look at things differently,

as we don’t have the same experiences.

If we allow each other to be who we truly are,

we may find there are more than one

solution to a problem or to something

unforeseen…blessings

Crows Flying

Crows Flying

By Pauline Harris

Winds sweeping over

The wheat leaving

Waves upon which

The crows use as guides

Blow gently into

A good night’s sky

And sleep peacefully

Now the night is nigh

The Bed Calls

The Bed Calls

By Pauline Harris

(*)

The sun had set

Many hours ago

Body was saying

Rest soon to come

Ready the body

And prepare

For stillness

The bed awaits

Laying down

To begin to rest

Pulling covers

Over the feet

Settling into position

Comforted

By blankets

And a pillow

All makings of

A nice restful sleep

And I now go

Off to dreamland

Safely and comfortably

May you, too, find

A nice place to rest well

Sweet dreams
