Hugs to my Friends

Here is to you, my friends. To those who have cared, To those who have shared, To those who inspired, To those who persevered, I send to you a healing hug and a sparkling smile. And some love to carry on….

We don’t know what tomorrow brings. All we know is here and now. We have each other Through thick and thin. Thank you dear ones. by Pauline Harris

Connecting Threads

Two met each other
In a distant land
Both choosing one thing
But before they could go thru
They both needed a reminder
A reminder of what was yet to be
And connecting threads lead on
Their choices would be felt
Well beyond these threads
So, off to see how much value
Just one life could be
For each of us has value
Well beyond measure
Few get to see
The connections
Between you and me
Those two decided
To carry on and set others free
And thanks to people like them
We can all be who we are meant to be

Silent Hugs

Silent Hugs
by Pauline Harris

The embrace came
From a longtime friend
Across the miles
She held my hand
And led me down
This path of healing
I didn’t know I needed
She may not have known
What she had accomplished
But still the impact
Of that friendly embrace
Comforted this soul
And inspired me wholly
For that embrace
Was given freely with joy
And gratitude ensued
Thank you my friend
I love you so…dear one

Friends Are Gems

Friends are like lil gems…we polish them and take care of them…sometimes we take them out to play or show them a good time around town… We miss them when they are not around… Friends are just so precious…

It is interesting how a friend can make such a lasting impression on your soul…in a way they live on thru your memories and actions… by Pauline Harris

I am grateful for long-term friends.

Many times moving forward can take a lot of energy…and there is always that lil voice saying what about this or that…but one must focus on love and dreams…and let them guide the way…who knows…perhaps friends will find their way back into your life…So many of mine have… by Pauline Harris

Oh The Loved Ones

Oh The Loved Ones
By Pauline Harris

Somehow we met
You were walking
Out of the hospital
Almost running
A joyous smile
Swept across
Your face
I was a bit
As surgery
Was my mission
You just smiled
And said hi
My nerves
Seemed to
Fade away
I looked at you
And saw someone
Who was hurting
But instead of
You were
In that moment
And that was
The start
Of a short lived
For you died
Only a few years
Bye bye bye
This December
I miss your smile

Grateful friends: those we share in peace and inspiration and wonderment together.

Close friends: those who know much about us and share times together loyally.

Okay friends: those who are friends, but keep a distance through judgments or some other means.

Sometimes friends: those on and off friendships.

Acquaintance friends: those who only associate at specific times.

I am grateful for my friends. Thank you

One Guarantee

We are born and die
But to live our lives
How and to whom
Do we dare share
A caring heart
Gives beyond self
Stories told
Adventures taken
Even if only in words
Or in shared experiences
Helpful hints
Laughter and tears
Gracefully guaranteed
An honest experience
Until we meet again
…by Pauline Harris

for CAD, thank you my friend

Do You Remember Him?

Just a boy, a kid
He liked to laugh
And talk
Long walks
Were his game

But one day
His smile
Introduced you
To another side of him
A side that few dared
To delve into to retrieve

Riding high amongst the clouds
Dreaming of what was
Never going to be
A proud patriot
Honor and hope
Kept him alive
Until he was no more

Gone these many years
His hope carries on
In the smiles shared
And the tears
Not forgotten
My dear friend

He Mattered

So often, we
As humans just live
Our lives day to day
Making differences
From our perspective
Attempting to matter
To someone else
Sharing a smile
Part of our story
One another
Improving life
Taking care
To leave the world
Impacted by a trace
A mere footprint
Stating we were here
We were loved
Our lives mattered
Because we knew
Our love was real
Our story carries on
In each of those
Touched by our love
Or just in the smile
We so often shared
