adventure in life

“…and there was the time

when I danced with the wind under my feet…

I swam looking up under the water

seeing the swaying branches…

I snuggled on my bed…

I dreamed a painting into life…

I wrote a poem without knowing

the words were being written…

I got lost in the woods to find my way out…

I lost my sight than got it back…

seeing people’s mouths move

and have no idea what they are saying,

then them getting mad at me

cause I did not know what they said to me…

not being able to get up and walk…

each day holds new adventures…

some are outside waiting for us…

and others, we just seem to find”~pharris

Peddle Stool

Upon arrival, I noticed
Little things
Luxuries given
Really forced upon me
Liking the feelings, at first
A tiny voice
Shouted ‘Be cautious’
Unaccustomed
To the attention
I enjoyed it
Engulfing me
In clouds of illusion
And then suddenly
The door swung open
And there, I saw
The depths
The distance
From reality
I had been placed
No more illusions
Of grandeur
For I knew
True happiness
Was not there
But for my own
Choice in keeping

The Journal

Many moons ago, a little girl
Wrote of tales and secret thoughts
Then her brother discovered these inks
Telling how the government knew all
Every word she wrote
And threatening to lock her up
If she wrote more, even truths
The girl believing him, hid the journal

One day many years later
The journal looked up to see
There were sad eyes of a lady
Reading the pages
Finding courage to write more
Knowing the flow is stronger
And no longer confined by lies
Creating miracles instead, the lady wrote on
