Night Then Light

Night Then Light
By Pauline Harris

Time had come
To bid good night
As we all hid
In our shelters
And under cover
Taking comfort
In some delights
The warmth
Of a blanket
Nestling us
A joy to behold
Resting well
For in the dark
Whispers may come
In a dreamlike state
Showing delights
Of events yet to become

As day light springs forth
Eyes begin to waken
No more captive
Hence forth found
Lovingly cared for
With a grace filling
The world with this energy
If we can only listen
To the beating heart
Of the whispering winds
Take heart in this ever-
Loving joy of spirit
With love all is possible

In A Dream

In a Dream
by Pauline Harris

As I slept
A vision appeared
Set me on the doorstep
Of what was to be
And what had been

All came clear
When I looked
Beyond what I could see
With visions of light
Appearing
To seem
Just right

But hold on tight
There were multitudes
Of every being
And every source of time
All living together
No separation
None departed

An energy of joy
All enclosed
And represented here
A bliss like none other
And all gathered
Without limitations
Peaceful solitude
All working as one
Oneness and whole
Captured in love
Easily recognized
By heartsmilez
Shared with all

Awakened later
The love carried on
And shared
In moments of joy
Graciously forwards

Inviting Hand From Death …

<This poem was written in reference to a photo depicting ‘Death reaching out to a person who was sitting under a tree in a forest area’>

Sitting alone under the great tree
Pondering about life and it’s treated of me
Searching for answers that are not to be
Daydreaming of days past by
Longing for something to clench at
Idealizing my future plans with dreams
Of granduer. Only to be returned to
A lowly feeling with a vision appearing out of no where
Dark shadows tempting and alluring me
Invitingly presents a hand stretched out
Giving me a chance at something different
Here is a gift of the everlasting life, free to take
No more anger or pain, hardships disappeared

Only joy and love remain
Grasp this hand and be set free

Peddle Stool

Upon arrival, I noticed
Little things
Luxuries given
Really forced upon me
Liking the feelings, at first
A tiny voice
Shouted ‘Be cautious’
Unaccustomed
To the attention
I enjoyed it
Engulfing me
In clouds of illusion
And then suddenly
The door swung open
And there, I saw
The depths
The distance
From reality
I had been placed
No more illusions
Of grandeur
For I knew
True happiness
Was not there
But for my own
Choice in keeping

Gated Path

Walking along
Making choices
For this and that
Some paths chosen
Strictly one way
Rules broken by authority
Breaking silence
Holding fast to love
Creating joyous moments
Echoing whispers
May appear from
Foggy mist
Talks to settle
Tormented souls
With no place to hide
Guided, as if to safety
Forged in a dream
A place no one hears
The screams to call
For love once more

Blue Glass Sphere Tied

Seashore shops carried these special items
Seeing some on ships, in houses
Odd shaped objects, spherical and blue
Greenish blue like the moving ocean
And the cords tied just so
Never really finding out their uses
Just found beauty in gazing upon
The spherical green-blue glass
With tied strings attached. ..

Mystic Messenger

In my slumber
My mind wanders
Dreaming
Taking me a journey deep
A messenger flies towards me
Startled with the news
I proceed to the new
Appearing door
In front of me here
Knocking four times
Eyeing the lunar shadows
Inviting me deeper
Up the hill
No longer
Captive
Freedom
Encompasses
The very thoughts
Enriching my soul
Firing me up
For the journey
Ahead
Waking
With joy
My bird of flight
Still guiding with light
At peace
