The Candle

The Candle

By Pauline Harris

Looking in

As I enter

The room

I gaze around

To see what there is

Not wanting to rush

Or to make haste

My eyes begin to focus

On the center part

Upon the mantle

Sits a lonely candle

Longing to be lit

A match was needed

And the ability

To make a spark

A swipe and another

The enflamed match

Brought to the candle

A spark and then lighted

Illuminating this room

With vibrance and peace

A sense of love

Unity connecting

My light with the candle

And all who dwell here

Each of part of the light

Sharing and caring

Inspiring as we carry on

Being the Light and Love

And so we do carry on

Love and Light

Love and Light

Is calling us

To comfort us

To protect us

To guide us

Take a deep breath

Breathe in love

Surrounding us

Each moment

Some veils may fall

Light reaches out

Of the cracks in the wall

Wrapping us in love

Providing a safe place

To curl up to breath

In this moment now

Love is surrounding us

Always and forever

Love Forward

by Pauline Harris

Choices, we make

Each moment we have a choice

Of what we are going to do or say

We can look at our past,

People we know or from other sources

How do we go about our lives with our knowledge?

Helping ourselves or others…

or hindering…or something else.

We are all here in this life together.

We choose our path each moment

And the consequences of our choices made….

maybe we need to take care and choose

Our paths more carefully.

The Long Distant Friends

The Long Distant Friends

Distance had changed

The dynamic of their lives

Each knew from afar

The longing of the other

To once again see

Each other in person

But things were in the way

And the dreams were put away

One day just maybe

Until then there is other ways

Writings and connecting online

Yet somehow the distance

Is making it harder

Maybe because they long for days

When they had played

Or ran around the houses

Seeing each other day after day

Walking each other home

After a long day at school

Them days are over

And life has moved

Each other in different directions

No longer together

Except deep in their hearts

They will one day see one another

And rise up to hug together
