Tree Shadows
By Pauline Harris
[*]
Morning light
Peeking through
The maze of trees
Surrounding me
As I looked out
To see stripes
Tiger stripes
Reflected below
As I am guided
Upon this path
I am traveling on
The stripes get me
To wonder into
A dreamlike state
Where I am riding
On the back
Of a huge tiger
Giddy up
The ride is swift
Taking me over
The hill and down
A deep dive valley
Passing by great
Creatures nearby
That is until
All of a sudden
A stop, suddenly
So quick my breathing
Needing to catch up
Slowly and carefully
I look around
I pause in my steps
A chill rushes down
My spine as I see
Here before me stands
Something I desire
A dear caring friend
Offering a bear hug
With our arms held out
We embrace
Offering each other
Healing Heartsmiles
And a comforting
Companion
To just sit with
And enjoy the day
