In The Shadows

A sultry hot mist
Gave the day
Ample sparks
Whispers were laden
With half truths
Suading distorted views
Compacted by loss
Loss of trust
In those set to protect
By their own accord
A match not yet lit
Fell to the ground
As the clash erupted
Provoked into being
Seeing the horrors
Had to take time
To release a beating breath
Talking freely
Without judgment
Or prejudices
Found solid ground
Set in caring more
For an universal love
And a deep insight
Of the sadness
We all felt
For the
Broken system
Which continues
Behind the veil
Stepping aside
Showered with truth
Understanding more
We survived
To be
Bringers
Of
A new found joy
Which delights
In the unfolding
Hope
Within the shadows
