The Stars Above

The Stars Above
By Pauline Harris

A roaring sound
Comes from the distance
Closer it nears
Deafening to ears
Go outside to see
What is it to be
Two jets whoosh by
Seemingly very close
Almost touching
The treetops
Watching as the lights
Fade into the distant
Another one creeps up
And disappears
Like the others
Into the glow
Of the night sky
The stars above
Glistening sparkles
Coming forth to greet
All who are willing
Inspiring many
As lights streak nearby
Guiding some into paths
Of adventures in dreams
And in life itself
Captivated by the glow
First from the jets
And now the stars
Light illumines the soul
For us to carry on

Sky Feathers

The original photo was taken in the 90s in Arizona on Native Land. The feathers are a tribute to that time and space. ~Pauline Harris

Singing Joy

Makes my heart sing
Seeing sparklies zoom
Across the midnight sky

To see the clouds
Reflect in the waters
As I drive on by

Such peace to be found
Only when I see
With my heart
And find joy abound

The Dance in the Sky

Sol slowly journeys
Around the sky
As the earth passes by
Lunar rises and reaches out
To the stars as they are
Guiding ships along a path
Capturing in essence
A masquerade dance of sorts
The dance of the ages
Sun, Moon, Earth, and Stars
All in alignment to boogy
The night and day away
Each respecting each other’s rolls
Until that day when eclipses happen
Then all is awoken to nuance
Of the moment…and joy abound
Take heart dear ones
The dance beckons on

Moonchild Muses

A young girl called Moonchild sat
Upon a paint can painting stars
Covering the sky while hanging onto
A rope hung from the moon
Carrying her across, making mighty waves

Light Showing the Way

The long walk

into the woods

led us astray

we looked for

a way out

but nothing seemed

to express a solution

finally we stopped

for a moment

to rest and recoup

in our moment

of need, a light

appeared

giving us new hope

deep within

we knew to follow

it guided us to

safety and renewed hope
