A Quilt

We are like a quilt
All different parts
Threads and materials
We are put together
Made strong in love
Completed and strong
Combined to comfort
And protect ourselves
From whatever forces
Do come our way
Together we rely
And support each other

Quilt of Choices

There is a crack

in the fabric of time…

it is interlaced with choices…

sometimes our focus

is so entangled

in one of seams…

we don’t see

the potential

of the new directions

of patterns etched

into the stitches…

it is time to look

at the whole quilt of life

and see all of its potential…*pharris 2010

Unraveling Quilt

Taking time to choose
The right fabrics
Colour matching
All with the threads
Making decisions
On which pattern
Cutting and trimming
Sewing pieces together
Forming what is to be
A perfect gift
For a loved one
Only to discover
The quilt began
To unravel
Due to a troubled heart
Ripping the seams
Tearing apart
What was once
A beautiful piece of artwork
Unraveling the very quilt
That took time and energy
To make and express
The love from those involved
Leaving so many pieces
By Pauline Harris

Quilts Made of Love

An idea is formed
To incorporate chosen
Fabrics with batting
Deciding the pattern
And measuring twice
To make the cut
Connecting each piece
With threaded needles
Combining the ideas
With prayers to make whole
A quilt filled with
Comfort and joy
Time to cuddle up
And enjoy

One Day Quilt

One day I hope we can see we are all unique beings with common threads and when pieced together, we make a beautiful quilt.~Pauline Harris

Piecing ScrapSquare Quilt

Scrappy Square Quilt

Bought some fabrics at a variety of venues. Decided to start on the quilt and make it scrappy quilt. Later on it will have flour sacks separating the 4x4 blocks. The design is coming along as the quilt comes together.
