The Dance in the Sky

Sol slowly journeys
Around the sky
As the earth passes by
Lunar rises and reaches out
To the stars as they are
Guiding ships along a path
Capturing in essence
A masquerade dance of sorts
The dance of the ages
Sun, Moon, Earth, and Stars
All in alignment to boogy
The night and day away
Each respecting each other’s rolls
Until that day when eclipses happen
Then all is awoken to nuance
Of the moment…and joy abound
Take heart dear ones
The dance beckons on

The Dance

Upon the stage, the curtain began to rise
The audience quieted quickly amongst themselves
Silence began with a loud bang
Two dancers pranced their way onto stage
Music on the rise
Gently and slowly, the swirls of twirls
Began to explode upon the stage
Grabbing all to view the mystique
A story is being told through rhythm
And movements to engage all
Allowing each to be carried away
Dancing within the minds
Carried away, far away
In a dreamland of sorts
To engage for the purpose of wonderment
Drifting back as the dance
Slowly comes to an end
Leaving all with an experience
Like no other…let us do this again.

Lightning Dancer

Days of storms
Had driven many inside
For safety
Reasonings had failed
To convince her
She continued along
Her adventure
Through the wanderings
Near the lightning poles
She had heard stories
Of amazing talents
To be gained if only
She could withstand
The great light storms
She knew how great
The challenge could be
As her own sister was lost
Or so the story was told to her
Determined, she carried her brallie
Secure in her decision
The lightning will come
As it may come
Dancing to her soul’s song
Moving in exquisite directions
Her spirit led her to this moment
She has become her destiny

Rain Gear At The Ready

Storms are on the horizon
Making their way inland westward approaching
Seemingly each year the winds pick up
Bringing pouring rains and thunderstorms along
Gathering wellies, raincoat, and brally
Readying for the dance in rain
Flooded walkways and streets, treading cautiously
Splitter, splatter…Splish splosh…swish, swash
Splash along the walkway home
Enjoying every minute after hot days
Ready to invite smiles and laughter
Into the very being of now
Let us play splishing and splashing
Enjoying the moments of pure joy

Twirling Around Dancing

Spun Around
Lost in the moment
Twirling about
Moving to the beats
Heart racing
Of two who wed
Love tells tales
And truth prevails
Spinning, am I
So captivated
By the rhythm
Head is racing
Round and round
I turn, twisting
My hips and my body
Goes down
Down to the ground
All eyes on me
I turn bright red
And dizzy
I cannot stand
Sitting curled up
Protecting myself
I rest until I can stand
At last, people have moved on
Catching my breath
And feeling better
I stand…and smile
For it was a good day
For memories
And twirling…

Dancing Into The Future

Dancing Into the Future
A waltz gives
as it is common
and familiar.
A line dance
brings people
to dance as one
all together.
And then there is
the wild card:
no rhythm, no reason
all in it for
following blindly
as they hear
what they want to hear.
Each dance is
chosen by the
but some may
just choose what
they hear is right
and some may
choose to let
others lead the way.
Whatever the dance,
our future is in
for most different
forecast than
what has ever been
danced before.-pharris
