The Rip Torn Blanket

The Rip Torn Blanket
By Pauline Harris

Years had passed
Since receiving
This blanket

Many places
It had seen
Cries in the dark
Comforting the shivers
Warming the heart

And then
One day

Noticing feathers
Coming out of it
My blanket
Had been torn

I looked at it

I took a moment

Thinking through
All this blanket
Meant to me
And of ways
I could repair it

Finding a needle
Some thread
Mending on the way

This blanket
With me
All these many years
Once torn
Now mended

Ready for many more
Adventures to enjoy

Cuddle Up

Some blankets
Are calling out
My name to
Come hither
Warmth Within
Cuddle Up
My friend
Cuddle Up

The Hand of Love

Alone for so, so, so long
Not knowing the comfort of touch
Walking as if in a daze
Confused and saddened
Losing all hope
Until…you came
I had heard stories of you
How miracles and joy came along
When you were chosen to be
The way shower, love bringer
Enabling me to find my path
Guiding my every step
In love and in joy
No longer fearful
Comforted in love
Your hand gracefully showing
Me kindness to share and care
For others to join along side
Us along the joyney through life
