Rainy Day Joyneys

Scene Note: A Stack of books
sit by the window.
Raining outside with
a beautiful view of
trees and beyond.
Rainy day travels
Exploring joyneys
Within, remembering
Days of youth
Filled with flare
A smile appears
When crystals
Become rainbow – makers
A precious doll
Brings comfort
To one who brought
Joy to so many
The petty quarrels
Sisters have becoming
Full fledged friends
The joyneys we have
Both within and about …by Pauline Harris

Surviving Friendships Abound

A rush to journey

away to see

loved ones

from the past

Not knowing what

will be until

the moment

Later on to see

warmed my heart

and to connect

Just made

the trip

all worthwhile

And then to come

loved ones

with greetings

A burst

and a shock

soon led to

some unwarranted

other blessings

soon ensued

and wisdom

to welcome

a new member

Here we are

and living

to decide

what is the truth

when the truth

beacons us forward

to let us know

we are friends

until the end of time

don’t ever let our

friendship go

Love and hugs

to all who

care to listen

The Storm

Clouds are

Building in the

East and North

soon in the

South and West

Winds start

To muster

a wisp here

a gust there

closing in

a clasp of

it is still far away

I gasp

as the lightning

start to pour

lightly at first

then gushes

of buckets

of water

fall down

from the sky

someone cries out

lightly please

not all at once

but the rain

puddles form

rivers rise

streets are rivers

flooding everywhere

hard to see

stay indoors

the weather people say

the forecast was for

just under half an inch

five inches so far

and it doesn’t seem

to want to let up

must barricade the

front door

make a passage way

for our escape,

if needed

time to breathe

as the thunder

and rain

seem to let up

no time to relax

there is so much

to do…check

check the forecast

the radar

all clear

time to check the

house and surrounding

limbs down

flooded driveway

and backyard

all are safe

prayers answered

gratitude as

we enter a new day

Whispers of Angels Wait to Be Heard

Sitting at my desk

I sat and waited

to hear any thing

a whisper would

have been good

but nothing came

to speak in my ear.

_So I ate my dinner

as I was hungry

and needed to

nourish my soul

somehow, but

in my rush, I think

I came to have

something in

my throat

choaking me

I could cough

but no talking

would come

I coughed and

saught help

I did not want

to do this alone.

_An angel was found

to help me with

my dilemma.

Not long did it take

and I was okay again.

_Surprised by the events,

I went to a quiet place

to sit still

with my thoughts.

_There appeared

a rustle in the trees,

a bird clapped it’s wings,

a cloud formed in the sky.

_Later, that night

I announced my

events of the day

and gave thanks

to the angel

who saved my life.

Thank you again,

dear angel.

What Joy do you see?

the clouds form a wing…

I look up to see…

a small rainbow formed

inside a bunch of clouds…

night slowly calls…

the moon is framed

inside the clouds…

I look up to see…

a smile formed

just for me~pharris2015
