Joy of Letters Combining Into Words

Books are friends…

They can take us

a million different places…

and to no place at all…

We are introduced to

so many new/old times

and characters…

and to those we have known

for a long while…

Books bring about

new ideas, creativity,

and imagination…

and they keep us

grounded in the moment…

Books are full of

great adventures,

some of them can just be

in our own mind.

Importance of Reading

Reading is one way of passing on wisdom to others, in this respect the author is like a teacher using words of wisdom to relay to another person but the reader must be open to the words and integrate them into their own life like any lesson in life makes one a better person.

Illusional Vapors

The vapors from the coffee grew
Twisting and turning into a dragon
Captivating the mind of the onlooker
Taking away from the lure
The tremendous lure of the books

Take Me Away Book

Picking up a book to read
Carries one off on a joyney
To faraway places and times
Characters in the books become more
Alive and guide, inspire, encourage
And yes, warn of fear…love
Each tale taking the reader away
Even for just a moment
Rescuing some. Encouraging others
Time has come for each
Of us to take a look
Deep within and read a story
Taking the joyney as a reader

Study Buddy

Sitting down with my books and dog
Readying myself for study tasks ahead
Comforted and calmed by my pal
Hard at work figuring out
Math problems and who did what
In the stories and they relate to life
My Buddy is here guiding me
Every step of the way
I am grateful for my pal, Buddy

Crooked Door

walking up and

down hills all day,

I am a bit dizzy.

I sit for a bit to

catch my bearings.

Rotating in my mind

the path laid ahead.

I get up a little slanted

as I am looking at

this door in front of me.

Oddly shaped. Oddly angled.

Not sure of howto approach.

Am I straight, and it angled?

Confused, I proceed.

Opening the door, to my eyes

doth appear a vast array

of books in stacks and shelves….
