Birdwatching Backbay

Passing Joy On

After the big storm
Came and went
Looking out the window
To catch a glimpse
Of joy unbound
Not a hummingbird
In sight, so I check
Another day for the bird
Not one shows up
Until some time later
A wisp of wings
Flutter past
Searching the flowers
One at a time
Sitting on a branch
For just a few moments
Taking flight once again
After a moments rest
Spreading joy
And delight to all
Who venture to gaze
Out the window
Sprinkles of joy
With flutters of wings

Fly Away Robins

Quietly in dusk as the sun
Subtly went to lay and rest
Chirping sounds grew amongst the trees
Calling forth the angels to guide
And give safe passage to all
Those believers who mind the stories
As the ancient ones foretold
A woman would become known
As the whisperer to the Robins
Take heed and watch for her guidance
For the truth will come to light
As she let’s love guide all

Mystic Messenger

In my slumber
My mind wanders
Dreaming
Taking me a journey deep
A messenger flies towards me
Startled with the news
I proceed to the new
Appearing door
In front of me here
Knocking four times
Eyeing the lunar shadows
Inviting me deeper
Up the hill
No longer
Captive
Freedom
Encompasses
The very thoughts
Enriching my soul
Firing me up
For the journey
Ahead
Waking
With joy
My bird of flight
Still guiding with light
At peace

The Rustling in the Bushes

Went out to check mail…
Heard a bit of a rustling…
Inside the rose bushes…
Hesitated to see what…
Could it be…soon, it…
Moved beyond where I stood…
Soon, I walked around…
Startled when a flapping…
Sound came out and flew…
Straight above and then…
Over across the street…
The wingspan was massive…
The hawk was awesome…
To finally what it was…
The rustling in the bushes.

A Little Surprise

Early the

other morning,

I looked out

the window

out where the

flowers were

in bloom.  A

glimpse of

fluttering

caught my

eye.  Waking

to see

what it was

before me,

I focused

closely as

each flutter

moved quickly.

Desire lept

into my being.

Telling myself

to breath and

to look patiently.

There before me,

flew pure joy

and wonderment.

The first hummingbird

to catch my eyes

this season.

Oh what a delight.

Cardinals in the Backyard Bushes

3CardinalsinbackyardtreebyPaulineHarris

These cardinals like to visit

and take turns at the feeding area.

They are fun to watch and

remind me of the beauty

the world has to share.

2days

2days

the water ripples
clouds form
overhead
a calming feeling
fast approaches
as sea gulls
swoop down
a fish jumps up
not caught yet
baby tadpoles
swim making ripples
rippling water
under the boardwalk
as I walk
over the water

trees masquerading
as signs
say turn back
bridge closed ahead
expect heavy traffic
questioning
where is the heavy traffic
coming from
if bridge up ahead is closed
instead
I walk on
a mission I am on
to capture
that one
one glimpse of
something intrigues me
I look for cars
to make sure I am safe
on I go and
find a place
plenty of trees
and powerlines too
looking up
moss reaching down
rest I must
observe I will

driving around
looking for this
or that
find another
memory
not lost
but found
and shared by another
sharing stories
of long since past
connections
and smiles
a great feeling
made

alas the days
are past
along with
something more
but the
connection
oh yeah, the
connection
is living on strong
gratitude
for the 2days
may they bring
more connections
