1 ½ lbs. lean ground beef
2 tbsp. dried onions
2 tbsp. garlic
1 can tomato sauce or tomato puree
1 small can of tomato paste
1 can of 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
1 bell pepper sliced into tiny pieces
2 cans of large baked beans or pork n beans
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
¼ c. apple cider vinegar
Break up the ground beef, garlic, and onions in a large cast iron pot on medium heat on the stovetop. After the beef is ground and in small crumbs, mix in the tomato ingredients, bell pepper slices, baked beans, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and vinegar. Turn to simmer and cover. Stir occasionally.
To spice things up a little bit, add some chili powder.
If chili needs to be thicker add a bit more tomato paste.
Substitutions…you can switch the ground turkey or sausage for the ground beef. Another substitution is banana peppers for the bell pepper.
