2days

the water ripples
clouds form
overhead
a calming feeling
fast approaches
as sea gulls
swoop down
a fish jumps up
not caught yet
baby tadpoles
swim making ripples
rippling water
under the boardwalk
as I walk
over the water

trees masquerading
as signs
say turn back
bridge closed ahead
expect heavy traffic
questioning
where is the heavy traffic
coming from
if bridge up ahead is closed
instead
I walk on
a mission I am on
to capture
that one
one glimpse of
something intrigues me
I look for cars
to make sure I am safe
on I go and
find a place
plenty of trees
and powerlines too
looking up
moss reaching down
rest I must
observe I will

driving around
looking for this
or that
find another
memory
not lost
but found
and shared by another
sharing stories
of long since past
connections
and smiles
a great feeling
made

alas the days
are past
along with
something more
but the
connection
oh yeah, the
connection
is living on strong
gratitude
for the 2days
may they bring
more connections
