Misty Days, Revisited

Misty days bring
wonder
and gaze
to the eye
Thoughtful gestures
of a man
standing alone
Shows everyone
a simple sign
saying SMILE
Deep within
Heart hears the cry
and freely smiles
Back at the man
and he and I wonder why
No one else heeds
his call
To take a little time
to enjoy
The moment
at hand and
smile
For the smile
will bring
just a
little light
into the world
And maybe,
just maybe
The smile
will be passed on
to someone
who needs a
little light
in their life
And the smile
might grow
so big
to brighten
the whole world
one day
Pass on a smile
today
