Water Dreams, revisited.

Sitting on the beach

Watching the waves

The birds above in the sky

They fly up way up high

I see one swoop down

Almost touching the ground

But for the wave

It comes so close

The sound is drawing me in

Deep within

Swish, swash.

Klink, klank.

…and splash.

In I go, as I watch the dolphins

Swim before me.

Down deep the waves

Rush over me.

Sinking. No, swimming.

I am pulled deep within.

Something is taking

A hold of me.

Pulling me.

I feel something

Is calling me

To come towards

Nearer, I swim.

Exploring the depths

And the beauty

As if I am a mermaid.

Yes, me a swimming

Mermaid.  A peaceful calm arises.

Finding my own way

Knowing there is beauty

All around me

And deep within.

My dream of treasure

Comes come to be

All around me

And deep within.

Note…this poem was originally published in its original state and made into a dance in the 1990s.
